Hyper Japan Christmas 2012 Preparation
Tomorrow morning is Hyper Japan Christmas in the UK! It's the greatest event to go to if you're into Japanese culture, both traditional & pop culture, anime, manga, cosplay, street fashion and getting a taste of all the different varieties of food on offer-and plenty of things to buy.
I like to nickname it "Lolita Con", because hundreds of Lolitas swoop in at this event every year. My first time going was this spring and I've never seen so many dolls at once LOL. Last night I had a go at various hairstyles to go along with my planned outfit. My hair is almost hip length and there's so many styles I'd love to do, but would be too much hassle. I've decided to wear the "Maiden Braid" style, similar to a milk maid's hair, I see it as a fusion of Medieval, Edwardian & Victorian due to many old photographs of women of these eras had a very similar version of this hairstyle, if not the exact same.
The pearl headband is now covered in tiny little flowers which are similar to the ones shown on my skirt, and because red is such a bold colour on it (it's the Beige Chocoberry skirt from Bodyline), I will rouge up my cheeks to make it contrast with the strawberries on it. It's considered Sweet Lolita, but I love combining Sweet & Classic with once another, as personally OTT Sweet isn't really my thing.
I'll get more pictures of course tomorrow! I'll arm my boyfriend with the camera if I have to, thank goodness he's fully understanding of the importance of being elegant, he's seen the planned outfit already and he's rather excited bout spending all tomorrow with a fully blossomed Lolita, it's really cute haha. And will finally meet some more of us, I don't have any Lolita friends so would be nice to make a few, or at least swap Tumblr details.
