Playstation 4 Revealed & The Anti-Microsoft War Begins

Considering I've missed a huge portion of E3's Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft's conferences as well as a tad bit of Sony's, there is no doubt in my mind that all over social networking last night, Sony blew away some minds (they certainly shocked me) and won thousands of hearts with their debute of not only just the newly awaited console but a line up of games that will go down in history if you're a Square Enix fan.

Meet the PS4, the latest sleek new design looks better than I thought when viewing it more in a slightly different light.

The PS4 can do many things Microsoft's somewhat despised Xbox One cannot do or just simply made everything gamers wanted more complicated than it's worth with the latest "restrictions". That includes:
  • No restrictions on used games and I assume publishers have no problem with this.
  • The gamer has rights to do what they want with a disc; that means trade-in at retail, sell it to another person, lend it to a friend or if you wish-just keep it forever and ever in your heart.
  • Playstation 4 disc based games don't need to be connected online to play. Or any authentication!
  • Single player offline games won't require nonsense checking in services.
  • Also, no authenticating if you haven't gone near the game in over 24 hours.

(This seriously was rubbing it in Microsoft's faces big time lol!)

This amusing video from Eurogamer I'm sure could explain the situation between the rival companies very nicely. Sony literally lays out all of the issues the Xbox One has and twisted around with a round of applause from the audience by describing on how the PS4 will do the complete opposite.

Sony's chunk of goodness also features no region lock, a 500 GB hard drive, runs on a single chip custom processor featuring low power 8 x86-64 AMD "Jaguar cores whilst nestling on AMD RadeonTM Graphics Core Next Engine. This being its main processor, it also features content that caters to the gamer's preferences, likes & dislikes and recommendations. PlayGo enables players to play a portion of a game being downloaded on the PS4 system, even if the downloaded hasn't entirely finished yet. Remote Play featured on the PS4 contributes to the Playstation Vita system; making gameplay experience equally as great as on the non-hand held console and of course there are other apps included with this all.

Though having said that you will require a Playstation Plus Subscription to access online/multi-player and other game features. Playstation Plus subscriptions cost £39.99 a year; this could change however.

Since Sony's debut of the console, there's been an awkward rage amongst Xbox and Playstation fans throughout the Internet; which we know is continuous and things won't change anytime soon.

Not only did this news hit headline game industry news, but the games lined up by Sony for the PS4 caught many off guard; even myself.
